Newgen Biotech Co., Ltd located in Xiangshan County, Ningbo City, founded in 2013 as a high-tech enterprise founded by Dr. Ricky Zhu, an immunology doctor who studied in the United States. The company has built a high-throughput screening platform for the R&D of active food and pharmaceutical ingredients from marine microorganisms .
As a high-tech enterprise, a small and medium-sized science and technology enterprise, a small and medium-sized "specialized and special new" enterprise and a little giant science and technology enterprise, the company uses synthetic biology technology to develop natural active macromolecule products from marine organisms, aiming to provide intestinal nutritional health solutions and activate nutritional health services.
Newgen focuses on the research and innovation of Marine biological resources and synthetic biology, and has established series platforms, inclouding Marine Microorganism Bank, Developing Center of Marine Enzyme, Enteral Nutrition Center, Biomedical Center, Natural Product Center, Developing Center of Marine Drug, Developing Center of Functional Food and Registration Center.
It has a modern production process amplification laboratory and many high-density cell engineering fermentation production lines, which can quickly realize the production of independent research and development achievements and the transformation of industry-university-research achievements. It has built Xiangshan Marine Innovation Service Center, Xiangshan Marine Bioengineering Technology Center, Newgen Biotech Marine Bioengineering Technology Center, Zhejiang graduate student joint training base, Zhejiang high-tech enterprise research and development center.
Newgen has passed ISO22000: 2015 food management system, ISO9001:2015 management system, HACCP food management system certification, Kosher, Halal and NSF-CGMP and other quality system certification, won a number of provincial and municipal technological innovation awards, including the third prize of science and Technology Award of China Commerce Federation, the second prize of China Invention Association, the third prize of Ningbo Science and Technology Progress Award, etc.

Dr. Ricky Zhu
Chief Scientist
Years of experience in immunology, synthetic biology and innovative drug development. He has been engaged in clinical immune drug development and treatment research in the Department of Immunology, University of Maryland School of Medicine, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, USA. His research work has been published in Journal of Immunology, Stem Cells and other professional academic journals as the first author. Before returning to China, he served as the R&D director of SEB Company, the largest biological enzyme and probiotic enterprise in the United States, during which he led the team to formulate a number of USP and FCC industry standards, and developed a variety of biological enzyme preparations and probiotics, which are widely used in the field of medicine and dietary supplements. After returning to China to establish Newgen, he led domestic and foreign research and development teams to make major breakthroughs in biological enzymes, probiotics, natural macromolecular drug delivery, polysaccharides and other fields, and completed the pilot test and mass production of a series of products. His level of scientific research and industrialization is in the forefront and leading level in the world.
